Make Room: Interactive ACT Acceptance Exercise

A Luna & Sol Counseling interactive ACT practice

Make room

Difficult feelings can hurt and pull your attention away from what you need. Practice making room for what is here, shifting attention back to the present, and choosing what you do next with more freedom.

This is not approval, resignation, or staying in an unsafe situation. Making room means acknowledging a feeling without having to force it away, then including your surroundings, needs, and options in your attention. The aim is to reduce its grip on your behavior and build more choice over your actions. Relief is welcome, but you do not have to feel calm to benefit. Rest, a boundary, support, or leaving danger may be the next step.
